SK Hynix has issued an official response to an inquiry from the Korea Exchange (KRX) dated August 21, 2026, regarding media reports claiming the company intends to construct a semiconductor manufacturing plant in Japan.
The company stated that while it is reviewing various options, including the establishment of additional production bases to strengthen its competitiveness in the memory business, there are currently no finalized plans regarding the reported investment. SK Hynix has indicated that it will provide a further update once specific details are confirmed or will issue a re-disclosure within three months.
