Hanmi Semiconductor has officially announced the establishment of a new US-based subsidiary, HANMI USA, Inc., as part of its strategic expansion to support the growing AI semiconductor market. The company will maintain 100% ownership of the entity with an initial capital contribution of 1.5 million USD (~2.1 billion KRW based on 1418 KRW/USD).
The primary objective of the new subsidiary is to conduct the development and sales of semiconductor manufacturing equipment, as well as related parts and materials. This move is designed to proactively respond to the increasing demand for equipment and the expansion of semiconductor manufacturing facilities in the United States, driven by the growth of the High Bandwidth Memory (HBM) and AI packaging markets. Additionally, the entity will serve as a hub to provide rapid technical support to local customers.
