Hanmi Semiconductor announced on August 18, 2026, its decision to acquire land and buildings located in Gajwa-dong, Seo-hae District, Incheon. The acquisition is intended to secure a new production facility (Plant 8) to preemptively respond to equipment shortages resulting from the expanded facility investments of global semiconductor companies.
The total acquisition cost is 56 billion KRW (~$39.69M USD based on 1411 KRW/USD), which represents 6.89% of the company’s total assets as of the end of the previous fiscal year (December 31, 2025). The transaction is with Mercury Co., Ltd., and the acquisition includes land measuring 20,582.1ใก and buildings measuring 25,694.3ใก, marking the largest factory site purchase in the company’s history.
The Board of Directors approved the resolution on August 18, 2026, with the expected completion date (final payment date) set for February 17, 2027. The company noted that the acquisition price excludes taxes and incidental expenses and that the schedule may be subject to change based on negotiations with the counterparty.
